BuzzBuddy ("we," "us") is an AI chat assistant that helps you find energy drinks based on flavor, sweetness, sourness, and other taste attributes. This page explains what information we collect, why, and how you can control or delete it.
Anonymous usage ID. The first time you open BuzzBuddy, your browser is issued a random, signed identifier (not derived from any personal information) and stores it locally. We use it to keep your conversation and taste preferences consistent across visits without asking who you are.
Chat messages. What you type to BuzzBuddy, and BuzzBuddy's replies, are stored against your anonymous ID for up to 90 days so the assistant can refer back to earlier parts of the conversation. Your messages are sent to OpenAI (our AI provider) to generate each reply — see "Third parties" below.
Product feedback. If you submit a correction (e.g. "this drink is sweeter than listed") or a review of a specific product, we store what you submitted, tied to your anonymous ID, so it can be checked and factored into that product's listing. Feedback isn't automatically deleted after 90 days the way chat history is — it stays until you delete it (see "Your choices") or an admin removes it.
Account information (optional). Creating an account is never required to use BuzzBuddy. If you choose to sign up, we store your email address and a securely hashed version of your password (we never store your actual password). If you sign in with Google instead, Google shares your basic profile (name, email address) with us under Google's own consent screen, and we store that instead of a password.
Technical/anti-abuse data. We briefly hold your IP address in server memory to detect spam and rate-limit abusive traffic. It is not written to disk, not linked to your account or anonymous ID, and is cleared automatically as the rate-limit window rolls forward.
Cookies. We set exactly one cookie: a login session cookie, and only if you create an account and sign in. We don't use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, or third-party analytics scripts.
We do not use your data to build an advertising profile, and we do not sell or rent your information to third parties.
We don't share your data with data brokers, ad networks, or analytics companies.
Delete everything ("Forget me"). The "Forget me" link available in the app immediately and permanently deletes your conversation history, submitted corrections and reviews, and account (if you have one). This can't be undone.
Access or correct your account details. If you have an account, you can update your details from your account page, or contact us (below) for anything you can't change yourself.
BuzzBuddy is about energy drinks and is not directed at, or intended for use by, children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has used BuzzBuddy and provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypting traffic to our site and never storing passwords in plain text. No system is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information appropriately for what we collect.
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, make a reasonable effort to let users know.
